Horrid week for studies
So, it’s coming up to the end of the week and so far, my plans for
studying have been horrendous to say the least. To say that Murphy’s Law, where
anything that could go wrong, did go wrong is an understatement.
It all started last weekend. After virtual church, I left my laptop
open to finish its system updates and auto-shutdown, I did because I have a
habit of setting my laptop to auto-shutdown when the lid closes. To counter this,
I usually partially close the lid just enough, not only so it doesn’t enable
the shutdown process, but to also hinder Bubba from clambering onto it. Bubba
is my 3-year-old ginger cat. He’s mischievous, self-centred and complains about
everything. He’s adorable and I love him heaps. One of his many bad habits is laying
down on my open laptop when its use or not. So, whenever I leave the laptop momentarily,
I just close the laptop partially, which works 99.99% of the time, except for
last Sunday.
You see, Bubba not only did he bust open the laptop with his chonky
self, but he tipped my drink onto the laptop, and in doing so shorted out my
laptop, my new laptop I only got a month ago. The same laptop where I didn’t tick
the extra insurance to save some money, thinking my home and contents would pay
for it, the same home and contents insurance that I found out through claiming,
that it had lapsed, and the renewal email was in my spam folder, so I didn’t see
the notice to renew in time. Thus, my claim was rejected.
So, to cut a long story short, I’ve to use my smart phone and my
tablet to submit assignments. I do miss a mechanical keyboard. Luckily my old
desktop is stored somewhere in the garage, so its just a matter of digging it
out. Thanks for nothing Bubba.
